MedCOP Climate 2023, the driving force behind local and regional climate action in the Mediterranean, and a meeting of Mediterranean territories for climate action

With the support of the Kingdom of Morocco, the Foundation of the Mediterranean Climate House and the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Regional Council (TTA) have decided to organize the MedCOP Climate on June 22-24, 2023, in Tangier, to promote Mediterranean integration. The aim of this event is to provide solutions and answers for the future of a Mediterranean resilient to the challenges of climate change.

This third edition will promote an integrated approach involving decentralized, concerted action to mitigate and adapt to climate change. It is structured around eight thematic blocks that will address key issues around risk management and water security, the blue economy and green energy transition, nature-based solutions and gender-related environmental risk issues.

Together with the Union for the Mediterranean, Plan Bleu is leading Hub 3 of the Climate MEDCOP, which focuses on the sustainable management of water resources.

The results of MEDCOP will feed into the Mediterranean agenda for the COP28 of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in December 2023.
