Enhancing the Mediterranean’s climate resilience through nature-based solutions
The Mediterranean has been identified by the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) as one of the world’s most vulnerable regions in terms of global warming. At the same time, the Mediterranean is a global biodiversity hotspot endowed with a great wealth of natural resources and ecosystems. The critical role of biodiversity, ecosystems and natural infrastructure in mitigating climate change and reducing its impacts is increasingly being recognized.

Renforcer la résilience climatique de la Méditerranée au moyen de solutions fondées sur la nature
Le Groupe d’experts intergouvernemental sur l’évolution du climat (GIEC) a désigné la Méditerranée comme étant une des régions du monde les plus vulnérables au réchauffement climatique. Dans le même temps, la Méditerranée est un « point chaud » de la biodiversité mondiale, car elle est dotée de grandes richesses, tant au niveau des ressources naturelles que des écosystèmes. Le rôle crucial de la biodiversité, des écosystèmes et des infrastructures naturelles dans l’atténuation du réchauffement climatique et de ses impacts est de plus en plus reconnu.
