Nature-based Solutions for Mediterranean Cities

Plan Bleu has published a new report, “Nature-based Solutions for Mediterranean Cities”. This study provides an overview of the Nature-based Solutions (NbS) concept and its added value for urban areas located on the Mediterranean coast, based on 14 case studies of NbS projects located on all of the region’s shores. The report advocates for the increased uptake of NbS to support urban resilience and adaptation by coastal managers, decision-makers and populations, and illustrates how NbS and the numerous environmental and social services that they provide can support the objectives of the Barcelona Convention Protocols and the Mediterranean Strategy for Sustainable Developùent (MSSD).
