Mediterranean health state : Plan Bleu publishes 10 key indicators of sustainable development.

Plan Bleu publishes a new concise analysis of the Mediterranean basin health state : through 10 key indicators. These indicators, resulting from the work of Plan Bleu Observatory, provide essential insight into the socio-economic and environmental dynamics that are shaping the Mediterranean today. This publication is produced as part of the update of the Mediterranean Strategy for Sustainable Development (MSSD 2026–2035), for which these indicators serve as an essential monitoring tool.

Two documents are available :

  • A technical version that presents detailed data
  • A more visual and simplified version, highlighting three key figures per indicator to facilitate understanding and dissemination of these issues.

The aim of this publication is to provide decision-makers, researchers, organizations, and citizens with reliable and up-to-date data, a clear vision of current trends, and support to inform policy-makers about the state of sustainable development in the Mediterranean.

The methodological limitations and precautions detailed at the end of the document highlight the specific considerations associated with each indicator and encourage a nuanced interpretation of these dynamics.
