The coordinating unit of the UN Environment Mediterranean Action Plan (MAP) organized in Rome on July 10-12, 2018, a meeting on Mediterranean Integrated Monitoring and Assessment Programme (IMAP). The main goal of IMAP is to build and implement a regional monitoring system gathering reliable and up-to-date data and information on the marine and coastal Mediterranean environment. This meeting, that brought together more than 70 participants from the Mediterranean countries, the European Union, and other key partners, highlighted good progress towards the preparation and implementation of the IMAP Programme launched in 2016 by COP 19.
