Plan Bleu at the 3rd NaTour4CChange Pilot Destinations Workshop

As part of the NaTour4CChange project, the 3rd exchange workshop of pilot destinations took place last week in Villasimius, in Sardinia. Hosted by the Regione Autonoma della Sardegna, the event began with a press conference in Cagliari before bringing together, in Villasimius, the seven Mediterranean pilot destinations as well as the project’s ten partners.

Plan Bleu was represented by Chloé Martin, Tourism Programme Officer, and Éloïse Leguérinel, Nature-based Solutions Project Officer, who actively contributed to the discussions and working sessions.

Over the course of the three days, participants presented progress on the Nature-based Solutions (NbS) implemented in each pilot destination, advanced discussions on their economic and financial models, and shared developments in communication strategies and sustainable tourism marketing. Clinical workshops also helped identify concrete challenges and enabled peer-to-peer feedback.

The French pilot site of the Cap Ferrat marine protected area, supported by Plan Bleu, presented its progress on the sustainable management of Posidonia beach wrack. Actions include adapted manual cleaning as well as strengthened awareness-raising efforts targeting tourism stakeholders.

This workshop provided a key opportunity to strengthen cooperation among Mediterranean partners involved in the project. It contributes to advancing concrete solutions for a more sustainable coastal tourism sector, better adapted to the impacts of climate change.
