On 6 July, the regional technical workshop organised by Plan Bleu was held to identify the parameters and indicators to be monitored in order to achieve good environmental status in the Mediterranean coastal zone.
Within the framework of the GEF MedProgramme and its Child-Project 2.1, the representatives of 5 countries out of the 9 beneficiaries (Bosnia-Herzegovina, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia) participated online or in person in the regional technical workshop, in the Plan Bleu offices inMarseille.
The work related to indicators has always been a major topic at Plan Bleu, being part of its core mandate for monitoring the environment and sustainable development at the regional level.
The set of indicators discussed will be consolidated in the coming weeks in order to propose to the countries additional parameters to strengthen the monitoring of the state of the environment of their coastal zones.
