The State of Mediterranean Forests 2018 will be launched in English version on 18 July 2018 at a side-event to the 24th session of the Committee on Forestry (COFO) that will be held in Rome from 16 to 20 July. The French version will be available in 2019.

Co-published by FAO and Plan Bleu, this report is the result of a collaborative process involving many different stakeholders from the Mediterranean region. In total, more than 160 individuals contributed to this volume on a voluntary basis.

This new edition aims to demonstrate the importance of Mediterranean forests to implementing solutions to tackle global issues such as climate change and population increase. It analyzes the circum-Mediterranean region, a territory encompassing thirty-one countries and a wide range of political, economic, social and environmental contexts.

Published in 2013, the first edition of the State of Mediterranean Forests has since become a reference book on Mediterranean forests.

The 2018 report will be available online since the July 18th, 2018.
