Today, 3rd of March, Plan Bleu represented theBlue GrowthCommunity during the first day of the Capitalisation event organised by BLUE DEAL InterregMED project:“BLUE DEAL Capitalization Lab”.
Blue Deal project aims to to increase transnational activity of innovative clusters and networks of the Blue energy sector, develop links and synergies between SME`s, public authorities, knowledge institutions and civil society and establish transnational and regional Blue Deal Alliances. Various speakers gave the overall picture of the BLUE DEAL project outcomes, focusing on the Blue Deal Labs methodology, their key outcomes, the importance of social acceptance for Marine Renewable Energy (MRE) projects with the results of thesurvey of Blue Energy perception, the initiative of Open Innovation Challenges, the BLUE DEAL school contests and other.
Our Program Director, Dr. Céline Dubreuil, presented the capitalization activities carried out by the Blue Growth community as well as the tools related to marine renewable energy developed within the community. She also presented the main conclusions of the upcoming report “Towards a sustainable development of Marine Renewable Energies in the Mediterranean“, including the key role of cooperation, effective implementation of integrated maritime spatial planning, the implementation of incentive policies and the importance of reconciling the various uses of the sea with the preservation of marine ecosystems. The capitalization event ended with the launch of the Blue Deal Transnational Allianceaiming to establish a regional cooperation between the different stakeholders to promote blue energy in the Mediterranean.
