Agadir (Morocco), 13 Novembre 2012: Results workshop of the study “Water demand management in Morocco: Thinking outside the water box!” which has been commissioned by the French development agency (AFD) and Plan Bleu and which has a particular focus on agricultural water demand management in the region Souss Massa Drâa.
The results workshop of the study “Water demand management in Morocco: Thinking outside the water box!” which has been commissioned by the French development agency (AFD) and Plan Bleu, took place in Agadir, Morocco, on November 13th, 2012. The study has a particular focus on agricultural water demand management in the region Souss Massa Drâa.
Lina Tode participated in this workshop which gathered more than twenty representatives from different stakeholders involved in water management in the Moroccan region Souss Massa Drâa, such as the President of the regional council of the Souss Massa Drâa, the Director of the river basin agency of the Souss Massa and Drâa and the Director of the regional office for agricultural valorization (ORMVA).
The workshop focused on the presentation and discussion of the outcomes and main conclusions of the study, which, amongst other solutions, advocate for the application of economic tools such as water quotas, for a more efficient water demand management in the Souss Massa Drâa.
