After the Mediterranean Coastal Day, which took place in Tangier, on September 28th, the two components of the Mediterranean Action Plan of UNEP, the SPA/RAC and Plan Bleu, organized the second workshop supporting the Regional Coastal Plan (RCP) of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Region (TTA), on September, 29-30th 2022. This workshop took place within the framework of the Climagine Project with the objective to work on the challenges of climate variability and change in coastal areas.
During the workshop, two studies were presented. First, the diagnostic phase of the development of the Regional Coastal Plan of the TTA Region (led by SPA/RAC and supported by Plan Bleu’s participatory methodology Climagine) was highlighted. Then, participants were able to discover the upcoming work on the nexus Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems in this same region. This work was conducted by the GWP-Med.
Set up in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Direction of Environment of the Region Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, the workshop gathered 95 participants and proved to be a great success.
