Recommendations to enhance Offshore Wind Energy in
the Mediterranean Sea

Plan Bleu is continuing its work on the concepts of a sustainable blue economy and growth, this time with a focus on marine wind energy. The 48th Plan Bleu note proposes recommendations for sustainably strengthening the wind energy sector in the Mediterranean. In this note, 16 challenges (environmental, socio-political, economic and financial, legal and regulatory frameworks and technological) are identified as priorities for the Mediterranean basin. To address these challenges, actions are proposed to work towards the sustainable development of this fast-growing energy sector.
