Advancing One Health in the Mediterranean

This report explores the application of the One Health approach in the Mediterranean, with a specific focus on marine and coastal environments, where interactions between human, animal and ecosystem health are particularly strong.
Based on a technical workshop organised by Plan Bleu and Université Côte d’Azur, it highlights key environmental and health risks affecting the region including pollution, climate change, invasive species and harmful algal blooms as well as current gaps in monitoring systems.
The report outlines practical pathways to strengthen regional cooperation, improve integrated monitoring tools and support the implementation of One Health for a more resilient Mediterranean.
