Activity report 2012

The structure of this report follows the logical framework of the Mediterranean Action Plan (MAP) that was agreed by the 21 countries and the European Union during the Conference of the Contracting Parties to the Barcelona Convention in Marrakesh in 2009. This framework is shared by the coordinating unit based in Athens and the regional activity; it classifies activities in 6 themes. The cross-disciplinary nature of Plan Bleu is well illustrated by the fact that its activities are split across 5 themes: governance, integrated coastal zone management, biodiversity, sustainable consumption and production, climate change. The sixth theme (prevention and control of marine pollution) is also taken into account by Plan Bleu as some activities
(indicators, water) deal indirectly with this theme.
