The Mediterranean at Climate Change COP 22: Time for Action!

In the framework of the Climate Change COP 22, held in Marrakesh, Morocco, the United Nations Environment Programme / Mediterranean Action Plan – Secretariat to the Barcelona Convention had a series of side events. The first one was organized on 11 November 2016, with its Plan Bleu and Priority Actions Programme Regional Activity Centers around the “Mediterranean Climate Change Adaptation Framework”.

The Mediterranean celebrates Coast Day “Blue economy for a healthy Mediterranean”

For the 10th consecutive year, the Mediterranean celebrated the Coast Day, on 27 September 2016 in Barcelona under the theme “A blue economy for a healthy Mediterranean”. It was co-organised this year by the Priority Actions Programme Regional Activity Centre (PAP/RAC), Plan Bleu, and the Regional Activity Centre for Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP/RAC), and co-sponsored by the MAVA foundation.

The Italian Ministry of Environment and UNEP/MAP sign a 4.5 million Euro Cooperation Agreement for the Protection of the Sea
