On 3 December 2021, Plan Bleu/RAC and PAP/RAC (Split, Croatia) organised the first Boka Kotorska Coastal Plan Scoping and Climagine workshop in Tivat, Montenegro, This joint workshop took place in the context of the Global Environmental Facility’s MedProgramme Child Project 2.1: MedProgramme “Mediterranean Coastal Zones: Water Security, Climate Resilience and Habitat Protection”. The workshop welcomed national and local governmental representatives, scientific institutions and NGOs to discuss the preparation of an Integrated Coastal Zone Management approach to the elaboration of Boka Kotorska’s Coastal Plan, led by PAP/RAC. Plan Bleu/RAC is supporting this process through its participatory Climagine methodology, which aims at including the voices of as many relevant stakeholders, sectors and scales as possible to feed into the Plan’s preparation. Based on the workshops’s conclusions concerning the priority actions and “sustainability dimensions” to cover in the Plan, PAP/RAC and Plan Bleu/RAC will pursue their efforts over the coming workshops in an effort to support sustainable development and environmental protection in Boka Kotorska, while supporting Montenegro’s efforts to implement Protocole GIZC.
