L'Assemblée générale 2017 du Plan Bleu s'est tenue dans les locaux du CIHEAM à Paris, le 29 juin 2017. Elle a permis de présenter aux membres de l’association le rapport sur les activités conduites en 2016, les comptes 2016, ainsi que le programme d'activités 2017.

Project Conference "A blue economy for a sustainable development of the Mediterranean region"

In the framework of the project “A blue economy for a healthy Mediterranean - Measuring, Monitoring and Promoting an environmentally sustainable economy in the Mediterranean region” founded by the Foundation MAVA, Plan Bleu, PAP/RAC and SCP/RAC organised jointly a conference that was held in Marseille, France, on 30 & 31 May 2017.

Peer Review Meeting


The main objective of this meeting organized in Nice, France, on 27 April 2017, was to discuss the draft national reports and formulate key recommendations towards the final report of the SIMPEER pilot test.

Joint Workshop on Science Policy Interface (SPI) strengthening and Ecosystem Approach Coordination Group Meeting on IMAP scales of monitoring and assessment, including the next QSR

The meeting, that was held in Nice on 27th and 28th April 2017, allowed to share best practices, to present efforts of Contracting Parties for IMAP implementation at national scales, to encourage discussion and meeting recommendations regarding elaboration of efficient spatial and temporal scales for monitoring and assessment.

Plan Bleu’s National Focal Points meeting

The National Focal Points meeting of Plan Bleu Regional Activity Center was held in Nice (France) on 25 and 26 April 2017. The principal objectives of the meeting were to discuss and approve the proposed Plan Bleu’s Programme of work for the biennium 2018-2019.

5th Mediterranean Forest week – Agadir (Morocco) 20-24 March 2017

The 5th MFW will promote restoration at Mediterranean level, to federate around forests various undergoing initiatives related to the Rio conventions, and to achieve those through an agenda of ambitious actions and collectively mobilizing all the technical and financial partners of the Mediterranean countries.

BleuTourMed's Kick-off Meeting

Built on a transnational partnership with strong knowledge and experience on integrated coastal management and sustainable tourism policies, BleuTourMed aims at supporting maritime and coastal sustainable tourism in the Mediterranean region. A Kick off Meeting was held in Villa Méditerrannée in Marseille on 16th and 17th of March 2017.

Atelier de lancement / Kick off meeting PANACeA

The PANACeA Project aims at streamlining networking and management efforts in Mediterranean Protected Areas (PAs) as a mechanism to enhance nature conservation and protection in the region. The Kick off Meeting was held in Villa Méditerrannée in Marseille on 15th and 16th of March 2017 in order to help us reinforce the links among the community of modular projects selected and the PANACeA partners.

Workshop on Science Policy Interface (SPI) strengthening for the implementation of the UNEP/MAP IMAP in relation to Marine Litter, Biodiversity & fisheries, Hydrography, with a focus on the Risk Based Approach (RBA) for monitoring


Plan Bleu organized the 4th workshop on the science-policy interface (SPI) strengthening, held in in Madrid, Spain on 2 March 2017 with a focus on the usefulness of the risk-based approach to marine monitoring in the implementation of the EcApMEDII project. 120 participants from the Contracting Parties to the Barcelona Convention, UNEP / MAP, RACs, the academic research community and scientists attended the workshop. The objective was to highlight the usefulness of the risk-based approach for the strengthening of marine ecosystem monitoring strategies and for the implementation of IMAP at regional and national scales.

What prospects for the Mediterranean?


On December 5th, 2016, 23 Mediterranean foresight experts gathered in the premises of CIHEAM in Paris for a workshop aiming at exploring possible approaches and modalities for a new foresight exercise on environment and development in the Mediterranean.
