Integrated regional assessments in support of ICZM in the Mediterranean and Black Sea Basins
This publication aims to guide a number of stakeholders on how to promote integrated approaches in the assessment of coastal and marine ecosystems to develop strategies and plans for their sustainable management.
Towards a multi-scale coastal risk index for the Mediterranean
The Mediterranean region is a climate change “hot-spot”. Investigating the role of climate and non-climate drivers on coastal zones is vital to understand the underlying risks and identify appropriate response measures. The multi-scale coastal risk index methodology proposed allows a scientifically sound detection of the coastal hot-spots.
Mediterranean experts meet towards an integrated approach to marine and coastal pollution monitoring
The Ecosystem Approach Correspondence Group on Pollution Monitoring (CORMON) met in Marseille, France, from 19 to 21 October 2016, with the participation of over 60 national representatives and experts in the Mediterranean. Co-organized by the UNEP/MAP MED POL programme and Plan Bleu, the meeting was focused on Contaminants (EO9) and Eutrophication (EO5).
