{"id":7735,"date":"2012-09-18T17:26:56","date_gmt":"2012-09-18T15:26:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/planbleu.org\/event\/mediterranean-forests-plan-bleu-partner-of-the-new-regional-cooperation-dynamics\/"},"modified":"2020-06-02T19:41:28","modified_gmt":"2020-06-02T17:41:28","slug":"mediterranean-forests-plan-bleu-partner-of-the-new-regional-cooperation-dynamics","status":"publish","type":"event","link":"https:\/\/planbleu.org\/en\/event\/mediterranean-forests-plan-bleu-partner-of-the-new-regional-cooperation-dynamics\/","title":{"rendered":"Mediterranean forests: Plan Bleu partner of the new regional cooperation dynamics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Rome, 18-21 September 2012: Plan Bleu is fully involved in regional cooperation activities developed in the framework of the Collaborative Partnership on Mediterranean Forests.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 10px; width: 300px; height: 318px; float: right;\" src=\"http:\/\/planbleu.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Logo3emeSemaineForestiereMed22.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>Plan Bleu is fully involved in regional cooperation activities developed in the framework of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fao.org\/forestry\/silvamed\/66624\/fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Collaborative Partnership on Mediterranean Forests<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Plan Bleu co-animated, on 18-21 September in Rome, the inception workshop and the Steering Committee meeting of the project &#8221;\u00a0Optimizing the production of goods and services by Mediterranean woodland ecosystems in a contact of global changes&#8221;\u00a0funded by the French Global Environment Facility (FGEF), in close collaboration with the secretariat of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fao.org\/forestry\/silvamed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Secretariat of FAO Committee <em>Silva Mediterranea<\/em><\/a> with whom it shares the coordination of the project.<\/p>\n<p>Plan Bleu also contributes to the preparation of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iii-med.forestweek.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">3rd Mediterranean Forest Week<\/a> (MFW), to be held on 17-21 March 2013 in Tlemcen (Algeria), and participated in the meeting of the organizing committee on 28 September in Rome. In this context, Plan Bleu is working with FAO to develop a first report on the State of Mediterranean Forests, which will be published on the occasion of the 3rd MFW, and is involved in the process of preparing a Strategic Framework for Mediterranean Forests. Plan Bleu participated in the expert workshop organized for this purpose on 8-13 September at the CIHEAM Mediterranean Agronomic Institute in Chania (Crete). Plan Bleu and FAO have also presented these various activities during the 21st session of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fao.org\/forestry\/cofo\/78120\/fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">FAO Committee on Forests<\/a>(COFO21) which was held in Rome from 24 to 28
