This side event will showcase technical mitigation solutions, proven restoration practices, and participatory governance approaches developed within the Interreg Euro-Mediterranean community to support policymakers and facilitate the implementation of public policies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The event will feature:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Innovative practical solutions for restoring forests and wetlands;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Participatory governance approaches, reinforced by key messages from the latest FAO report on the state of Mediterranean forests;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Policy recommendations developed under the Natural Heritage Mission;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A political dialogue bringing together national actors and regional organizations to identify concrete pathways for strengthening alignment with regional and international frameworks, including:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF),<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Barcelona Convention (MSSD, ICZM Protocol, post-2020 SAPBIO),<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The EU Nature Restoration Regulation and the 2030 Biodiversity Strategy,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">National restoration strategies.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Objective: To outline a clear roadmap for more effectively integrating knowledge, operational tools, and governance solutions at the core of restoration policies in the Mediterranean.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you plan to attend COP24, join us on Tuesday, 3 December 2025, from 5:45 PM to 6:45 PM (Egypt time) at the St. Regis Hotel &#8211; Malachite I+II, 2nd floor.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":30639,"template":"","tags":[],"pb_tags":[],"class_list":["post-30640","event","type-event","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.1 -
