{"id":25016,"date":"2024-11-18T10:21:11","date_gmt":"2024-11-18T09:21:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/planbleu.org\/event\/regional-roundtable-on-climate-adaptation-financing-in-the-mediterranean\/"},"modified":"2024-11-18T10:21:11","modified_gmt":"2024-11-18T09:21:11","slug":"regional-roundtable-on-climate-adaptation-financing-in-the-mediterranean","status":"publish","type":"event","link":"https:\/\/planbleu.org\/en\/event\/regional-roundtable-on-climate-adaptation-financing-in-the-mediterranean\/","title":{"rendered":"Regional roundtable on climate adaptation financing in the Mediterranean"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On December 2 and 3, 2024, Athens will host the <strong>Regional Roundtable on the theme &#8220;Catalysing Financing for Climate Change Adaptation in the Mediterranean Coastal Area: The Role of the Private Sector.&#8221; <\/strong>This hybrid event will also be accessible online, bringing together key stakeholders from the Mediterranean region, the private sector, and coastal decision-makers.<br \/>Within the framework of the <strong>GEF MedProgramme SCCF <\/strong>Project and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wes-med.eu\/fr\/page-daccueil\/\"><strong>EU Water &amp; Environment Support (WES) Project<\/strong><\/a>, this roundtable is co-organized by the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gwp.org\/en\/GWP-Mediterranean\/\">Global Water Partnership-Mediterranean <\/a>(GWP-Med)<\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/planbleu.org\/\">Plan Bleu\/<\/a>RAC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unep.org\/unepmap\/\">UNEP\/MAP,<\/a><\/strong> and the <strong>EU WES Project<\/strong>. The event will address the challenges of financing climate adaptation measures in Mediterranean coastal areas, with a particular focus on engaging the private sector through an integrated Source-to-Sea approach.<br \/>Discussions will explore innovative financing mechanisms, clarify the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders, and propose concrete actions to enhance the resilience of coastal regions.
