From November 6 to 18th, 2022, the United Nations Climate Change Conference will take place in Sharm-el-Sheikh, Egypt.<\/span><\/p>\n

Each year, a new Conference of the Parties, here on climate, brings together governmental and non-governmental stakeholders, from around the world to decide collectively on common objectives to be achieved to address climate change. <\/span><\/p>\n

One thinks immediately of the national delegations, which come to represent their respective States. Although they are essential actors, they are not the only participants in this event. NGOs, companies, associations, scientists… A large number of people will be present in Sharm-el-Sheikh. As at each COP, the event takes place under the aegis of the United Nations<\/span><\/p>\n

The Mediterranean Action Plan of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP\/MAP) and its<\/span> Components<\/span><\/a>,including Plan Bleu, will participate in the Mediterranean Pavilion<\/a>, the space dedicated to Mediterranean priorities, during COP 27<\/a>. It is the first time<\/a> such Pavillon is represented at a COP on climate change.<\/span><\/p>\n

November 10th, 12:30: <\/b> \u201cAssessments of scientific knowledge on climate and environmental change in the Mediterranean to support evidence-based decision-making\u201d – (organized by MedECC) <\/span><\/p>\n

November 11th, 10:00:<\/b>\u201cRegional actions to counter land degradation, enhance climate change resilience and food security\u201d <\/span>– <\/span> (with the participation of Dr. Pier Paolo Roggero, Lead Author of the MAR1<\/a> published by MedECC)<\/span><\/p>\n

November 11th, 12:30: <\/b>\u201c<\/span>Tourism climate action plans in the Mediterranean: a vision for the future\u201d <\/span>– <\/span>(with the participation of Fran\u00e7ois Guerquin, Plan Bleu Director)<\/span><\/p>\n

November 12th, 11:15:<\/b> \u201c<\/span>Coastal adaptation across the Mediterranean: solutions driven by cities networks<\/span>\u201d <\/span>– <\/span>(co-led by Plan Bleu, with the participation of Maria-Carmen Llasat, Co-coordinator of MedECC special report on coastal risks and Fran\u00e7ois Guerquin, Plan Bleu Director) <\/span> <\/p>\n

November 12th, 12:30: <\/b>\u201c<\/span>Adaptation in coastal zones: from science to action<\/span>\u201d<\/span>– (with the participation of Coline Mias from Plan Bleu (CASAdapt project) and Prof. Dr Piero Lionello, Co-coordinator of MedECC Special Report on coastal risk) <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

November 12th, 17:30:<\/b> \u201c<\/span>Climate change and security in the Mediterranean region\u201d <\/span>–<\/span> (organized by MedECC)<\/span><\/p>\n

November 14th, 10:00:<\/b>\u201cWater-Energy-Food-Ecosystems Nexus approach: An adaptation Strategy to cope with climate change<\/span>\u201d,<\/span>– <\/span>(with the participation of Dr Mohamed Abdel Monem, Co-coordinator of the MedECC Special Report on climate-water-energy-food-ecosystems nexus) <\/span> <\/p>\n

November 15th, 10:00: <\/b>\u201c<\/span>The importance of R&I in the fight against climate change in the Mediterranean\u201d <\/span>– (with the<\/span> participation of Prof. Dr Wolfgang Cramer, MedECC Co-coordinator)<\/span><\/p>\n
