{"id":12322,"date":"2021-03-29T12:19:12","date_gmt":"2021-03-29T10:19:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/planbleu.org\/event\/online-workshop-at-eu-green-mediterranean-solutions-towards-zero-pollution-impacts-on-biodiversity-and-health\/"},"modified":"2021-04-27T16:45:14","modified_gmt":"2021-04-27T14:45:14","slug":"online-workshop-at-eu-green-mediterranean-solutions-towards-zero-pollution-impacts-on-biodiversity-and-health","status":"publish","type":"event","link":"https:\/\/planbleu.org\/en\/event\/online-workshop-at-eu-green-mediterranean-solutions-towards-zero-pollution-impacts-on-biodiversity-and-health\/","title":{"rendered":"EU GREEN WEEK ONLINE WORKSHOP: MEDITERRANEAN POLLUTION, BIODIVERSITY AND HEALTH &#8211; 04\/06\/2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Join us<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/biodiversity-protection.interreg-med.eu\/no-cache\/media-calendar\/events\/detail\/actualites\/save-the-date-mediterranean-solutions-towards-zero-pollution-impacts-on-biodiversity-and-health\/\"><strong>at the Interreg MED Mediterranean Biodiversity Community\u2019s<\/strong><\/a> <strong>online workshop on 4 June 2021<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eugreenweek.eu\/\"><strong>at EU Green Week 2021<\/strong><\/a>,<strong>which will focus on<\/strong><strong>\u201cMEDITERRANEAN POLLUTION, BIODIVERSITY AND HEALTH\u201d<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>This workshop will convene key Mediterranean initiatives and institutions in the fight against marine pollution in the Mediterranean region, who will showcase evidence on marine pollution impacts on biodiversity and health, delve into the current policy frameworks and governance models in place, and debate solutions to successfully transition towards zero pollution for both people and planet, with specific focus on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Marine litter threats for our environment, health and livelihoods,<\/li>\n<li>Legislative measures tackling marine litter in Europe and the Mediterranean, and<\/li>\n<li>Solutions to reduce marine litter impacts in the Mediterranean.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This workshop is a unique opportunity to learn about current initiatives and tools to tackle marine pollution impacts, and how an ecosystem-based approach to biodiversity protection and management in the Mediterranean can ensure a better future for humans and the ecosystems in the region.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The workshop will begin at 9 am CET.
