Mediterranean of the future - Act 1: A common commitment for the climate change agreements

The Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region hosted on Tuesday November 21st, 2017, at the Villa Méditerrannée in Marseille, the first edition of an international event on the "Mediterranean of the future" topic. This first edition entitled "Act 1: A common commitment for the climate change agreements" gathered more than 400 people: ministers and local authorities' managers, experts and scientists, civil society representatives and non-governmental organizations.

Elen Lemaitre-Curri, Plan Bleu's director, made a presentation on the blue economy topic during the Workshop 2 "Climate change and green and blue economic opportunities". Participants of the workshop presented a non-exhaustive overview of economic issues related to climate change, shared their analysis on barriers faced, and proposed action-levers to make Mediterranean a laboratory for climate action, whether it be regulatory development, capacity building, support systems for technology transfer, or awareness.
